Westlake Village, CA — Australian manufacturer Robern Menz’s Violet Crumble bars, which feature honeycomb toffee covered in milk chocolate, have gain mainland U.S. distribution through a deal with British Wholesale Imports, Inc. (BWI), while Whitby Company Inc. will handle the brand for the Hawaiian market, according to the importing company.
“Violet Crumble is an iconic Aussie brand, and we’re thrilled to be in a position to manage its expansion into international markets, including the U.S.,” says Phil Sims, Robern Menz CEO. “We were impressed by BWI’s passion for the product, coupled with its longstanding reputation of working closely with companies to nurture and grow candy brands in the U.S. market.”
Robern Menz began producing the bars in Adelaide, South Australia, earlier this year after acquiring the brand from Nestlé SA. The bars have been available in the U.S. on a limited basis for more than 20 years, but the new brand owners are focusing on international expansion, BWI reports.
Kerry Bamberger, BWI CEO, says: “Initial response amongst consumers has been extremely positive; its unique taste profile and branding is really resonating with Americans, who want to know how they can buy it locally. We’re looking forward to introducing Violet Crumble to more candy lovers across the U.S., as well as potentially other products from the Robern Menz portfolio in the future.”
The 1.76-ounce bars have a SRP range of $2.99 to $3.99.
