Beijing, China — In an effort to provide better assistance to its Chinese customers with onsite training and application support, Barry Callebaut AG has opened an office and Chocolate Academy is Beijing.
The construction marks the second academy in China, the only country with two, and Barry Callebaut’s 22 Chocolate Academy worldwide, according to the supplier. During the past decade, more than 3,500 chocolatiers have studied at the other Chinese training center, located in Shanghai.
“As a global leader in the chocolate industry, serving food manufacturers and professional users of chocolate, we are excited about the great growth potential of China,” says Ben De Schryver, president of Barry Callebaut Asia Pacific. “Domestic chocolate production is increasing, and we have experienced double-digit growth in China during the past four years.”
