Chicago — Stacy Bates has been named the 2016 Retail Dietician of the Year by the Retail Dietitians Business Alliance (RDBA). Bates, MS, RDN, LD, CDE, is a nutrition services program manager for H-E-B Grocery Company, LP. The award recognizes a retail dietitian who shows leadership in utilizing business skills and industry knowledge to positively impact consumer behavior change through the retail sector.
“Stacy is an example of how a retail dietitian can bridge the role between community and retail,” says Phil Lempert, CEO of the RDBA. “Her efforts have created a valuable sales engine for H-E-B.”
In her role at H-E-B in Texas, Bates is responsible for the oversight and management of the retail RD team, health content development and wellness programming. With nearly a decade of experience in nutrition communications and education, Bates has a diverse background in adult education, clinical dietetics and nutrition marketing. She also has served as a food and fitness blogger, healthy cooking coach and spokesperson for food companies.
