Northbrook, IL — Bell Flavors & Fragrances, Inc.’s Northbrook facility has received its highest score of 99 during the plant’s 2019 SQF audit, the supplier reports, noting it was rated “excellent” for the ninth consecutive year.
Bell reports it is a yearlong preparation for the audit and is a cross-department effort. This year the supplier on-boarded new software for food safety, quality and compliance assurance, which required many changes and in some instances, employees having to relearn everyday tasks. However, having that technology in place greatly streamlined the audit process.
SQF is a rigorous and credible food safety and quality program that is recognized by retailers, brand owners, and food service providers world-wide. Recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative, the SQF family of food safety and quality codes are designed to meet industry, customer, and regulatory requirements for all sectors of the food supply chain – from the farm all the way to the retail stores, according to Bell.
