Bissinger’s Wins Sofi Award For Gummy Pandas

New York — Bissinger’s Handcrafted Chocolatier took home a Sofi Award in the confections category for its strawberry-mango Gummy Pandas. Additionally, Milkboy Swiss Chocolates, Poco Dolce Confections and Droga Chocolates were recognized in chocolate categories, according to award presenter the Specialty Food Association.

Droga’s Money on Honey items were named the top product for chocolate candy, while Milkboy’s Milk Chocolate with Crunchy Caramel and Sea Salt won in the milk and white chocolate category. Olive Oil & Sea Salt bars from Poco Dolce took the top prize in the dark chocolate category.

In addition to winning in the milk and white chocolate category, Milkboy also took home the Best New Product Award for its White Chocolate with Blue Potato Chips and Sea Salt bars, while its milk chocolate with roasted almond bars won a bronze Sofi.

“The Sofi Awards are one of the things that really put us on the map,” says Milkboy Founder Emanuel Schmerling. “It shows the retailers, distributors and brokers that even small companies can achieve remarkable recognition and business success.”

The award for savory snack when to Halen Brands’ From The Group Up Cauliflower Pretzels with Sea Salt, the sweet snack winner was Honey Mama’s Nib & Coffee and Mouth Foods won the award for cookies with its Smart Cookie: Orange Pistachio Shortbread.

Neuchatel Chocolate’s organic Chocolat Stella — Dark Chocolate with Hazelnut Nectar was the winning item in the vegan product category.
