Cary, NC — The Aeroglide division of Bühler, Inc. was awarded its fifth consecutive Safety Award of Merit from the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association, an organization that advocates for the growth and sustainability of the North American metal processing, forming and fabricating industries.
The honor is given to best-in-class metal fabrication companies that achieve and maintain a culture of safety in the workplace, according to the supplier. To be eligible, companies must post an injury and illness incidence rate that is better than the published Bureau of Labor Statistics rate by 10 percent or greater, based on its North American Industry Classification System code.
Bühler’s safety record during 2017 consisted of three recordable minor injuries and one lost time accident, according to the company. When compared to the most recent National OSHA recordable rate for applicable industry contractors, the supplier’s total recordable incident rate was 1.9 versus an industry average of 3.2.
“We are pleased to receive this award for the fifth consecutive year, but this is also something we’ve come to expect,” says Michael Moses, quality/safety manager. “We’ve developed a strong commitment to safety awareness during the past few years, with training and professional development that has increased workforce engagement, while recognizing an inclusiveness of all employees.”
