Tacoma, WA — Dick Kahler, one of the founders of brokerage Carter-Kahler, Inc., passed away June 29 from congestive heart failure. He was 84.

Kahler dedicated his professional life to the confectionery industry, from specialty candy to working with Brown & Haley and later his own company with Paul Carter and 2004 Candy Hall of Famer Rick LeBlanc.

He retired from the industry in 1997 after the merger of Carter-Kahler with Lang-Senders, which formed current brokerage Kahler-Senders Group.
