Cincinnati — Doscher’s Candy Co. has purchased NECCO’s Candy Buttons brand and is continuing production at its Newtown, OH, headquarters. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, pursuant to NECCO’s bankruptcy settlement, the candymaker reports.
Greg Clark, partner in Doscher’s Candy, told the Cincinnati Business Courier that the brand has wide appeal because generations of consumers are familiar with the product line. He anticipates the deal to result in the company doubling its annual output.
The acquisition brought 10 new jobs to Doscher’s factory, bringing its total headcount to 25.
