HENDERSON, NV — Ethel M Chocolates is partnering with CARE, the global poverty-fighting organization, to offer a limited-edition CARE Collection. The Mars Wrigley Confections U.S., LLC-owned chocolate-maker is donating $5 from the sale of every box of the specially wrapped 16-piece assortments of its best-selling chocolates to the humanitarian organization. The company, which focuses on producing chocolates without preservatives, states its goal is to raise $20,000 between now and May 2019.
According to the company, CARE works with the world’s most vulnerable families and communities, particularly women and girls, to bring transformative change through a range of innovative programs, from food and nutrition to health, education, humanitarian aid and livelihood development. Its signature Savings and Loan Associations have mobilized more than six million members — mostly women — in dozens of countries who save and borrow millions of dollars a year to start and grow businesses, pay their children’s school fees and cover other necessary expenses.
One of the reasons Ethel M chose to partner with CARE is because of its efforts to ensure cocoa farmers have the tools and resources they need to thrive, according to a statement from the company. Investing in family and community through business loans and healthcare benefit both the current and next generation of cocoa farmers.
“We at Ethel M could not be more excited to extend our family legacy to support such an incredible organization,” says Marketing and PR Manager Lisa Vannerson, Ethel M Chocolates. “The work CARE has done has been ground-breaking. Five dollars from every purchase of the limited-edition CARE Classic Collection will now go toward enriching the lives of people all over the world, equipping them with business and healthcare opportunities.” C&ST
