Ferrara, 7-Eleven Partner On Nerds-Inspired Slurpee

Irving, TX — Featuring the original Nerds flavor pairing of grape and strawberry, Ferrara Candy Co., Inc. and 7-Eleven, Inc. have teamed to release Nerds-flavored Slurpees. The first NERDS-flavored Slurpee® drink has hit 7-Eleven® stores. The limited-time flavor is a mashup of two of its most iconic flavors – Strawberry and Grape. 7-Eleven collaborated with Ferrara Candy Company maker of the popular tiny, tangy crunchy candy to create the exclusive flavor described as “delicious, tangy Grape and Strawberry that taste just like your favorite NERDS candy.”

Described as a “tangy grape and strawberry that taste just like your favorite Nerds candy,” the frozen drinks were inspired by consumer requests and the fact that Nerds are one of the best-selling non-chocolate items for the c-store chain, according to Jacob Barnes, 7-Eleven’s proprietary beverages product director.

To promote the new Slurpee, the companies have disguised two Slurpee trucks as school buses and will be touring college campuses in Texas and the Midwest this the fall to hand out samples of the newest Slurpee flavor as well as packs of Nerds candy. Bus stop dates and locations will be shared on Slurpee’s social media.

“Nerds is excited to be collaborating with 7-Eleven to deliver an interactive and a one-of-a-kind Slurpee experience,” says Katie Duffy, senior director of marketing, Ferrara. “Fans will be able to ‘nerd out’ with 7-Eleven and NERDS candy this fall.”
