Westchester, IL — Ingredion, Inc. is expanding its manufacturing and production capabilities in Saskatchewan, and its partnership with Verdient Foods, Inc., as the supplier reports it has begun construction on a manufacturing facility to make specialty pulse-based protein ingredients.
The facility is anticipated to be operational by the second half of 2020, and will significantly increase Ingredion’s food processing capabilities to meet the growing demand for plant-based proteins, according to the supplier.
Ingredion projects its total investment in plant-based proteins to increase from $140 million to $185 million by the end of 2020.
