Washington —NCA’s Young Professionals Network (YPN) recently released a podcast featuring IT’SUGAR Founder & CEO Jeff Rubin. During the interview Rubin talks about knowing from an early age that he wanted a career in retail focused on candy. Rubin also discusses how his life and career were transformed through a partnership with the iconic toy retailer FAO Schwartz.
The YPN podcast series, according to Lisa Shapiro, founder of LM Shapiro Strategies, who chairs the group on behalf of NCA, is designed to offer an inside and personal look at influential personalities in the confectionery industry. “It’s a way for aspiring category professional to gain practical advice and inspiration centered around some of the true icons of the industry,” she tells Candy & Snack TODAY.
Rubin, a 2018 inductee into the Candy Hall of Fame, also reveals some of the unexpected places where he searches for inspiration when it comes to developing the products and in-store concepts that set his retail experience apart. He also tells listeners about his unique approach for collaboration and focuses on ways to disrupt both the retail and confectionery markets.
