Fairfield, CA — Jelly Belly Candy Co. has entered into an asset purchase agreement for Gimbal Brother’s, LLC’s jelly beans as well as associated brands including Scottie Dogs licorice and other chewy candy items from Highlander Partners. The deal is expected to close at the end of this year, according to Jelly Belly.
“We are grateful to the Gimbal Brothers team for their collaboration during the closing of this agreement,” says Lisa Rowland Brasher, president & CEO of Jelly Belly. “We are both working hard to make this seamless for retailers, brokers and buyers.”
Jelly Belly reports the two founding families of each company have been familiar with each other for three generations, and combined with Gimbal’s reputation for quality products makes “this opportunity to expand product offerings and distribution in the marketplace truly meaningful.”
Gimbal’s was purchased in 2017 by Highlander Partners and became part of the then newly formed Bettera Brands, alongside Hillside Candy Co. and more recently Queen City Candy. C&ST
