Jacksonville, OR — Jelly Belly Candy Co. has licensing its namesake jelly beans for Jelly Belly Sparkling Water, which has no sugar, sweeteners, sodium or calories, according to Joffer Beverage Co., which was formed to launch the line.

The idea for the beverage line was born at a Mother’s Day party of Jelly Belly’s founding family, according to Stephen Joffer, a sixth generation member of the family. “We were on the back patio, drinking a couple of popular sparkling water brands, when I said out loud, ‘If only someone could nail a sparkling water with really stand-out flavors,’” says Joffer. “The lightbulb came on when my dad suggested, ‘Why not our own Jelly Belly flavors? We are known for rich flavors after all.’”

Jelly Belly Sparkling Water will feature French vanilla, lemon lime, orange sherbet, piña colada, pink grapefruit, tangerine, very cherry and watermelon flavors. Cartons holding eight 12-ounce cans have a SRP range of $4.99 to $5.99, and the line initially be available at Hy-Vee, Inc. stores on January 14.
