Bethlehem, PA — Just Born, Inc. has suspended production at its Bethlehem and Philadelphia facilities through at least April 7, 2020 in response to the “rapidly evolving COVID=19 situation,” according to a statement from the company.

The third-generation family- owned business stated that “the well-being of our associates, community, customers and business partners is of the utmost importance to us,” in making the announcement.

In addition to its production facilities, the company has closed its PEEPS & Company store in Center Valley, PA, through at least April 7, 2020.

The company notes most of its office associates had been working remotely since March 18, but now all associates are on a work from home schedule. “We will take this opportunity to further clean and sanitize our production facilities, offices and corporate headquarters.”

In addition, Just Born’s internal task force for COVID-19 continues to regularly monitor the domestic and worldwide impact of the virus and is following recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), local and state health and government authorities and the World Health Organization, according to the statement put out by the company.

Noting that its Easter shipments have been fulfilled, the company states it has inventory of Mike And Ike, Hot Tamales and Goldenberg Peanut Chews, but could experience out of stocks on individual items. “We will continue to work with our retail partners to ensure that the fans of our brands can continue to enjoy them during this challenging time.”
