Mars Wrigley Investing $142M In Tennessee Plant

Cleveland, TN — To support production of its new Hazelnut Spread M&M’s, Mars Wrigley Confectionery U.S., LLC is investing $142 million in its 40-year-old Cleveland, TN, manufacturing facility, according to the Cleveland Daily BannerMars MMS Hazelnut Spread

Nearly 80 full-time jobs will be created because of the expansion, bringing the total number of employees at the plant to 800, according to the newspaper. The investment will be used to update equipment to make the hazelnut spread as well as “packaging innovations for the changing consumer market,” according to Mack Phillips, site director for the Tennessee plant.

This investment is the latest in a series of commitments the candymaker has made to update its manufacturing sites, which included the $100 million expansion of its Topeka, KS, facility.
