Temple, TX — Premium Order Management Suite, a mobile app for Android and Apple devices, is McLane Co., Inc.’s latest digital solution to streamline ordering, receiving, inventory and deliver management and reclamation. The company reports the app can help retailers lower cost and increase long-term profitability.
This release follows the May launch of the Grocery Mobile app from McLane, which has been adopted by some 1,500 stores, according to Deon Johnson, vice-president of customer technology. He estimates another 2,000 downloads of the app will happen by the end of this year and an additional 3,000 devices will be rolled out annually for the next three years.
The swift adoption of this technology is because it is easily available through Google Play and the Apple App Store, as well as how quickly the systems can be implemented, Johnson reports. In addition, affordability is driving adoption of the apps because retailers don’t need special mobile devices to operate the software. Further, those seeking the ability to scan products can add compatible hardware or receive a custom device from McLane.
“Our customers are in the business to sell products, not buy or maintain technology,” Johnson says. “They want us to provide easy-to-use software solutions no one else is providing that can be taken advantage of now, not six months or a year from now.”
