El Paso, TX — Mount Franklin Foods, LLC has begun construction of a 220,000-square-foot state-of-the-art candy manufacturing facility. The company says the new plant is part of a proactive strategy designed to ensure its continued success in meeting and exceeding production demand for its core products.
The facility is located in San Jeronimo, Mexico, a port of entry across the U.S. border from Santa Teresa, New Mexico.
“Our new San Jeronimo facility will increase our capacity by 130 million pounds annually,” says Gary Ricco, president and CEO of Mount Franklin Foods. “This growth allows us to continue the development of exciting new products for our customers and consumers.”
Slated to open in May 2020, the facility will house additional mogul production for soft candy items, including gummies and jellies, and bring more than 450 jobs to the area.
“Expanding manufacturing capabilities allows us to maintain a competitive edge in the confectionary market,” Ricco adds. “This move positions us for continued growth and helps ensure we remain the trusted resource for quality candy and snack products.”
