Chicago — FlavorHealth, an ingredient supplier focused on natural offerings, is launching at the Institute of Food Technologist Annual Meeting and Food Exposition with a line of three flavor systems, the company reports.
Made from natural sources, the initial offerings include sugar reduction, bitterness balance and sodium reduction systems. The ingredients can help manufacturers meet consumer demand for healthier items while maintain flavor and providing potential cost savings, according to FlavorHealth.
“Our valued partnerships with manufacturers provide crucial insights to the challenges they face in meeting consumer demand for wellness and transparency,” says Chromocell and FlavorHealth CEO Christian Kopfli. “FlavorHealth was created to address these challenges through natural flavor solutions that allow manufacturers to provide consumers with the healthier products they want for themselves and their families.”
The sugar reduction system can cut sweetener use by 30 to 50 percent, while intensifying the sweet flavor for non-caloric and caloric sweetener sources, the company reports. In addition, the systems can cut sodium levels by 30 to 60 percent, while Bitter Balance allows for 40 to 60 percent reduction in bitterness and is ideal for reducing negative tastes characteristic of better-for-you ingredients such as astringent tannins, plant-based proteins, high-potency sweeteners, and vitamins and minerals.
