Washington, DC — Applications for the 2018 NCA Future Leadership Program are now being accepted. The program, open to young professionals 40 and under working in the confectionery industry, provides support, education, access and opportunity as part of the year-long accelerated leadership initiative.
The Association states the program fosters industry growth and advancement, engaging participants in a formal mentorship with an member of the industry personally selected for them by the Association’s Young Professionals Network (YPN) committee.
“The Future Leadership Program has provided me with significant career growth opportunities,” says Chris Jenco, CEO of Jenco Brothers’ Candy, a member of the class of 2016. ”From connecting and conversing with top industry leaders to being given multiple opportunities to speak to the entire industry, the program is unlike any other in the industry.”
The five individuals selected will be hosted at NCA’s State of the Industry Conference, Sweets & Snacks Expo, Washington Forum and the Candy Hall of Fame, all of which offer exceptional professional development opportunities through education and networking, according to the Association.
“The program is an amazing opportunity to gain long-term mentors, and I would strongly urge anyone considering it to apply to be a future leader,” adds Jenco.
In its third year, the Future Leadership Program is led by NCA’s YPN Committee and supported by the National Confectionery Sales Association, which administers the Candy Hall of Fame.
