NCA Debuting Tech-Driven Destination Retail At Expo

Washington — Attendees at this year’s Sweets & Snacks Expo will have the chance to explore the latest technology and merchandising vehicles that drive consumer engagement at the new Destination Retail, NCA reports.

Encompassing the Merchandising Gallery of Success, the special section will be located on the show floor at the former site of the Discovery Theater, and will highlight digital point-of-purchase displays, solutions that build shopper loyalty, platforms that allow for customized messaging and demonstrations by experts.

For example, IBM’s Watson technology, which can analyze a multitude of consumer behaviors to help retailers better understand shoppers and drive in-store traffic, the Association reports.

“Technology’s role in the world of retail is changing every day, and the candy and snack categories can’t afford to get left behind,” says Expo Chairman Barry Rosenbaum, president of Nassau Candy Distributors, Inc. “Destination Retail will provide Expo attendees an environment where they can see and experience the latest in-store solutions.”
