Philbin At Helm Of Dollar Tree; Mac Naughton Leads Family Dollar

Chesapeake, VA — Gary Philbin has been promoted to enterprise president of Dollar Tree, Inc., responsible for store operations, merchandising, marketing and real estate across all banners including Dollar Tree, Family Dollar and Dollar Tree Canada. He continues to report to Bob Sasser, CEO of Dollar Tree.

Philbin has been at the company more than 15 years, most recently serving as president and COO of Family Dollar, where he oversaw development of strategic initiatives and the budgetary, synergy and transition goals following Dollar Tree’s acquisition of Family Dollar in July 2015. Prior to the acquisition, he served as president, COO for the Dollar Tree banner. He began his career with Dollar Tree in 2001 as senior vice-president of stores.

The company also named Duncan Mac Naughton president and COO of Family Dollar. He reports to Philbin. Mac Naughton has more than 30 years of experience in the food, grocery, mass merchant and specialty retail industries. He most recently served as CEO of Mills Fleet Farm and has held leadership roles at Walmart Stores, Inc., including chief merchandising and marketing officer of Walmart U.S., executive vice-president of consumables health and wellness at Walmart.com from 2010 to 2011, and CMO of Walmart Canada from 2009 to 2010.
