London — Global sales for confectionery processing equipment is anticipated to grow close to 7 percent by 2022, with plant expansion projects serving as the major market mover, according to Technavio.
The research company notes that in addition to plant expansions, candymakers increasing capacity to reach new markets will also bolster equipment sales.
During 2017, the Americas dominated the candy processing equipment market, with a 38 percent market share, trailed closely by Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Asia-Pacific regions. Technavio reports that government support for confectionery processing has led to the Americas’ leading market position.
This past year coating and enrobing equipment was the most in-demand, according to the research company, garnering a nearly 24 percent market share.
