Brand ambassadors will be giving out free 14-ounce heart-shaped boxes of chocolate and dollar off coupons redeemable at Walgreen Co. locations throughout the city. The promotion is being supported with a paid social media campaign and mainstream media relations to drive traffic to the plaza, which was selected because of its highly visible location and close proximity to a dozen Walgreen locations, according to Russell Stover.

“No one wants to disappoint their special someone by showing up empty-handed on Valentine’s Day, but life can be hectic and people sometimes forget. During Valentine’s Day, an estimated 70 million U.S. consumers will give chocolate or candy, and 94 percent of Americans say they want to receive such a gift, according to NCA.
