Saucony Releases Taffy-Inspired Sneakers


Grand Rapids, MI — Running shoe company Saucony, Inc.’s latest limited-edition release is inspired by old-school candy shops and taffy, with a color scheme of light blue, orange and gray. Saucony, Inc.'s Grid 9000 "Street Sweets."

Developed in partnership with Michigan sneaker retailer Premier, Grid 9000 “Sweet Streets” sneakers’ candy inspiration goes beyond colors, as the shoes feature stretchy elastic laces and soft neoprene tongues branded with a candy striped “P,” according to Premier. The elements were incorporated to strengthen the taffy theme.

Packing with metal tins that hold extra bungee laces and taffy, the sneakers retail for $140. In addition, confectionery-inspired T-shirts and jackets are also available. The items will be released May 7, and can be ordered from
