Washington DC — The Sweets & Snacks Expo, hosted by the NCA, has been recognized as one of Trade Show Executive magazine’s fastest-growing shows. The Expo earned a place in three of the magazine’s rankings, being named to the 50 fastest-growing shows based on number of exhibiting companies, garnering a “Next 50” award for net square feet of exhibit space and another “Next 50” award for total attendance. The 2016 Sweets & Snacks Expo welcomed more than 17,000 attendees from 90 countries and featured more than 760 exhibitors, according to NCA.
“We are honored to receive such a distinction from Trade Show Executive magazine as the award is proof industry experts recognize the Sweets & Snacks Expo as an event where retailers and exhibitors can grow their businesses,” notes Barry Rosenbaum, Expo chairman and president of Nassau Candy Distributors, Inc. “The 2017 Expo promises to be no different as we continually seek to solidify our stature as the must-attend event for the candy, snack and specialty categories.”
The award is given to organizational events that exceed industry benchmarks. The Sweets & Snacks Expo outpaced industry benchmarks by more than 10 times in number of exhibiting companies, and more than five times in net square feet of exhibit space and attendance, according to the magazine. This is the third time the Sweets & Snacks Expo has received a “50 Fastest” award, having been first named to the list in 2011 for number of exhibitors and then again in 2013 for attendance.
The 2017 Sweets & Snacks Expo will be held at McCormick Place in Chicago, May 23 to 25 and will feature the debut of “Eye Opener” morning educational sessions taking place before exhibit hall hours.
