Teterboro, NJ — Aiming to help customers throughout the development process, from concept to larger scale samples, Symrise NA has opened an expanded and redesigned Food & Dairy Application lab for confectionery, bakery, cereal and nutritional products, the supplier reports.
The spacious lab, which has a view of the New York City skyline, includes technology to improve CPG companies’ capabilities, ensure food safety and enhance hygiene, Symrise reports.
“Our highly skilled team uses a project-driven, collaborative approach to developing concepts and flavor applications that meet our customers’ particular goals,” says Dr. Khalid Farooq, technical team leader. “Collectively, the applications team has more than one hundred years combined experience working on the application of both liquid and powder format flavors to sweet goods.”
The lab features a positive pressure air flow system to regulate temperature and humidity, fully computerized steam injection milk and dairy processor, a dedicated area for fruit preparation, a flavor carousel that allows for more efficient workflow and a spacious walk-in freezer and cooler. The R&D space also includes pilot equipment for tableting, starch moulding, fruit prep, soft and hard pack ice cream and cookie sheeting.
