Boulder, CO — Undercover Chocolate Co.’s Dark Chocolate + Pomegranate crispy quinoa clusters took the top prize in the sweet or dessert category at this year’s Nexty Awards, presented by Natural Product Expo West organizer New Hope Network.
The clusters, which are gluten- and nut-free, feature crispy quinoa lightly covered in premium chocolate.
“What’s not to love about Undercover Snacks’ Dark Chocolate + Pomegranate? Our Nexty judges loved the clean ingredients list, offering a decadent yet health-forward experience. Aside from being absolutely delicious, we loved the certifications and attention to manufacturing in a peanut and tree-nut free facility, offering those with sensitive allergies an opportunity to indulge,” says Chris McGurrin, manager of influencer programs for New Hope Network. “This kid and adult-friendly dessert has a great, accessible price-point with a perfect ratio of chocolate, pomegranate and quinoa. We can’t stop eating it!”
Brad’s Plant Based, LLC’s Everything Zucchini Veggie Flats crackers took top honors in the savory or salty snack category, and Solely, Inc.’s Fruit Jerky won in the sweet snack category, according to New Hope Network.
Donating 1 percent of sales to the Latino Community Foundation, Soñar Foods LLC’s Grain Free Organic Tortilla Chips took the top prize in the mission-based product category, while Sun & Swell Foods’ Clean Cookie Bites won the environmentally responsible packaging award for its compostable standup flexible film pouches.
“We are thrilled to honor the winners of the 2020 Nexty Awards and hold them up as examples of products that inspire change and integrity in everything from ingredients to packaging,” McGurrin says. “This year’s winners competed in the largest pool of nominees the Nexty Awards has ever seen with over 1,000 nominations. It is an incredible feat to rise to the top and being named a winner provides these exceptional products with important visibility as they launch into the marketplace.”
